Visitors!

At the end of May we got to spend some time with the Condon family. We bribed them with cheesecake to let us come and hang out with them. There is nothing like catching up with friends that you haven't had a chance to see for a while. Jacob and Brock were competing with a lot of estrogen, but they should be used to it by now. We're hoping it won't be another 4 years til we see them again. I'm sure that they'll want some visitors for their long winter days ahead of them in Alaska. Brock will be eternally be thankful for the Condon's teaching him about how to use Redbox.

While looking for beach access to find some tide pools we came across this beautiful meditation garden attached to a Yogi temple. The koi in their ponds were huge, and they had so many great plants and trees. After our fun filled adventurous day with no nap time, this is Claire on not enough sleep.

Grandma and Grandpa Solano were kind enough to let us crash in on their vacation time. We spent a week with them in Kauai which is where Brock took me on our honeymoon...almost 7 years ago. It was a little different going with 3 kids (major understatement). What a beautiful Island.

We stayed on the south side of the island near Poipu beach. Luckily the girls awoke at their usual time 7:30 CA time (4:30 HA time). So we got to see some beautiful sunrises.

Ashlyn made friends with a giant Koi fish she named Clover who would come to the surface and take fish food right out of her hand.
This is Ashlyn's new pose. She gives you the number 1! Her favorite Wii game is the maraca game where she gets to dance and strike poses. She now loves to Hula dance.

The building in the background is where we stayed with a view of the point and the waves crashing onto the cliffs. Claire didn't want to get too close. She had a crazy fear of waves for some reason.
Claire was a lot happier being carried around. She also enjoyed calm water like the pool and a couple kid friendly, reef protected ocean pools we went to at Lygate park and Ke'e beach. The girls got a lot of water and sun time.

Lara liked the sand quality in Kauai better than the stuff we have laying around here. I leave her with Brock 10 minutes...
Time changes are a little tricky and Lara was a little bit of a mama's girl the whole trip. Here is a great shot of her classic bottom lip pout.We were having so much fun that we missed our return flight home Saturday night and had to stay one extra day with Brock's parents. Luckily they were staying longer so we were not stranded in the airport, and we got scheduled for a new flight the next day at no charge. We had returned the hotel crib so we improvised with a large suitcase that we padded up and made into a bassinet. Lara slept better in that than she had all week and then played contently in it the next day. She loved her little suitcase.

We have a lot of fun shots which I'll post later. Right now I am still trying to recover from our red eye flight.
